Finding the perfect facial cleanser has been somewhat of a mission for me. I expect it to wash everything off my face, yet not dry it out even a bit. After countless positive reviews and rave comments from K-Beauty fans, I decided to test the famous Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Cleanser on my own skin.
Is it really worth the hype? I've been using it morning and night for two weeks, so now I'll share my unfiltered experience! 🔬
What makes the Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Cleanser special? (First impressions)
The first time I squeezed it out of the tube, I encountered a translucent, light, gel-like texture. What immediately won me over was its soft, completely natural scent. There’s no overpowering perfume, just a very clean, slightly herbal aroma thanks to the birch sap and chamomile extract it contains. When it meets water, it doesn’t foam wildly (a sign of its low, skin-friendly pH!), but transforms into a very silky, creamy microfoam.
Results of the 2-week test: What did I feel on my skin?
The hydration test
The biggest test for me is the first 5 minutes after washing. Usually, I have to rush to my hydrating toner because my face feels tight. But after using the Round Lab birch sap cleanser, that “tight” feeling was completely absent. My skin was clean yet incredibly soft and hydrated. The combination of hyaluronic acid and birch sap replenishes moisture even during the cleansing phase!
The makeup and sunscreen test
In my evening routine, I used it as the second step of double cleansing (after an oil balm). It completely removed all makeup and sunscreen residues that the oil step might have left behind. One morning (for scientific purposes 😅), I tried it alone on very light makeup: it performed surprisingly well, although for heavy mascara, the double step is still necessary.
The final verdict
After two weeks of use, I noticed my skin overall looked much calmer. The small redness spots disappeared completely. Since this product doesn’t disrupt the skin’s acid mantle, my pimples healed faster. Moreover, many reviewers (which I can confirm!) mentioned that the vitamin C ascorbic acid in it made the skin slightly more vibrant and radiant during hot summer days.
Who do I recommend it for?
If your skin is dehydrated, sensitive, or prone to tightness and redness, this cleanser will be a true dream for you. But thanks to its light, gel-like texture, it won’t disappoint those with oily or combination skin either. It has become a perfect, balanced “basic” piece in my bathroom!
